How to Open Zip Files on iPad?
Opening zipped folders on your iPad (or iPhone, or iPod touch) is not possible out of the box–the device has no built-in software to access these types of files or their contents. However, with a relatively inexpensive app, you can expand .zip files and access their contents with ease.
First go get Good Reader for iPad or one of the many other file reading apps in the app store. I chose GoodReader because I know for certain that it in fact reads and opens zip files either from a web site or from an email attachment. It is available for just $.99 in the app store.
