The iPad 2, which it has been tentatively dubbed, is the next iteration of Apple's popular tablet device, the iPad, which went on sale in April of 2011. The iPad 2 has also been rumored to be called "iPad HD," though without direct confirmation from Apple, we can't be sure. Chris Galzerano, a web developer and blogger, has been doing some ferreting around in the third-gen iOS 4.3 beta. And he's turned up some very interesting nuggets.

Perhaps the juiciest of which is that the iPad 2 won't carry a puny 1 megapixel camera as some press speculation had pointed to. In fact, Galzerano uncovered the fact that a 3 megapixel camera will apparently be on board.

Interesting stuff indeed. Apple hopes to keep its stranglehold on the tablet market throughout 2011 with its slate sequel. The original iPad shifted almost 15 million units last year.
